Principles Of design Paintings/ Pictures

Balance-

  •  The painting represents balance because as you can tell the colors are equal and are all going the same way.
  • The picture represents balance because the trees are all similar.

Emphasis-

  • The painting represents emphasis because it is really focusing on the girl in the painting
  • The picture represents emphasis because it is really focusing on the little girl in white and the pink flowers

Elements Of Art Paintings/ Pictures

Space-

  • The painting has the element of Space because as you can see the trees have distance between them and so do the buildings
  • The picture has the element of Space because the two sea shells are distant and so is the guy in the background.

Elements Of Art Paintings/ Pictures

Value-

  • The picture has the element of Value because it refers to a dark scale and it is contrasting with the gray and white.
  • The painting has the element of Value because it also is referring to a dark scale but it also has some light in there.

Texture-

  • The painting has the element of Texture because as you can see all the little flowers and petals are not painted on, but hand made and also you can tell the tree stump has some texture as well.
  • The picture has the element of Texture because as you can see on the tree branch there are a bunch of little vines wrapping all around it giving it that rough feel.

Form-

  • The painting has the element of Form because as you can see it looks as if the tree branch is sticking out of the page and holding a swing.
  • The picture has the element of Form because all of the surroundings you can see how the mountains, trees, and rocks are all real and 3D

Elements Of Art Paintings/ Pictures

Lines-

  • The painting has the element of Lines because there are lines of all sizes and going in different direction.
  • The picture has the element of Lines because there are lines every where going in different direction and also you can tell this picture was taken under the object.
Color-

  • The painting has the element of Color because it has different colors everywhere.
  • The picture has the element of Color because it has different color reds and orange and white everywhere.
Shape-
  • The painting has the element of Shape because is has the shape of a heart and you can see it by how the person painted it with there strokes of the paint brush.
  • The picture has the element of Shape because it is showing different blocks and there shape.

Principles Of Design

  • Balance:is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art. There are three different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The human figure is symmetrically balanced; the same on the left and right side. The tree is asymmetrically balanced; its branches are not distributed equally on each side, but their total weight is balanced left and right. The sun is an example of radial balance; all its rays are equal in length from the center.

  • Contrast:is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values. Contrast creates interest in a piece and often draws the eye to certain areas. It is used to make a painting look interesting.

  • Emphasis:in the focal area of an artwork gives it importance. An artist may stress some elements of the design over others. The eye of the viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition.

  • Movement:in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area. Movement is a visual flow through the composition. It can be the suggestion of motion in a design as you move from object to object by way of placement and position. Directional movement can be created with a value pattern. It is with the placement of dark and light areas that you can move your attention through the format.

  • Pattern:are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again. Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of paintings or sculptures.

  • Rhythm:is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms. Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly. Like a dance, it will have a flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.

  • Unity: Means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony. Unity brings together a composition with similar units. For example, if yo:ur composition was using wavy lines and organic shapes you would stay with those types of lines and not put in even one geometric shape.

Elements Of Art

  • Lines: are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.
  • Shape: are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet. Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.
  • Color: wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors. They also show the relationships between complementary colors across from each other, such as blue and orange; and analogous (similar or related) colors next to each other such as yellow, green, and blue. Black and white may be thought of as colors but, in fact, they are not. White light is the presence of all color; black is the absence of reflected light and therefore the absence of color.
  • Value: or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between. Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.
  • Form:describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.
  • Texture:can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless. Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork.
  • Space :refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece. Space can be positive (white or light) or negative (black or dark), open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.

Photo Shoot Reflection

I feel like i nailed most of the composition rules, i know i could've done better on some of my photos i took. Some of my photos would've been better if we were able to use different settings, like blurring out the backgrounds. And also theres not a lot to work with here at school. But no matter what i will get better at taking photos that have to do with the composition rules.

Composition

Balance
In this photo you can see that there are multiple trees, but the trees that your eyes catch are the four right in the center of the court yard. All the trees make a diamond shape and they balance each other out.
 Simplicity
In this photo your eye goes directly to the leaves and it looks as if everything in the back doesn't really mater. It makes it feel as if its the only thing in the picture.

Composition

Frame
In this photo you see workers, their trucks, and a blue buggy.
but around this entire photo are poles that make it look as if it is framed. So it feels like it is a picture in a frame
 The Rule Of Thirds
In this photo you see a cloud and just a clear blue sky, as you can tell the cloud is not in the center its on the side. So when you look at this picture eye just goes directly to the cloud and it gives it a calming feel.

Composition

Avoiding Mergers
In the photo you see a few people, theres one person in this photo that is getting cut off. Since everyone else in the photo is whole, the guy getting cut out makes it a little awkward.

 Lines

In this photo you see a lot of pipes that are on top of a metal roof, while the pipes are going straight across the roof is cutting through them. which makes it a dynamic feel.

camera history

                camera hisory

  1. Camera obscura which is latin for dark room. The whole acted as a lens, focusing and projecting onto the dark wall in the chamber.
  2. The modern camera became one step closer to being created when Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of the optics and the process of making a high quality glass lens.
  3. Niepce: a glass lens, a box, and film
  4. The film
  5. They capture the image with and electronic sensor called CCD
  6. When the camera is on "Auto" mode it usually controls the flash and exposure of the picture. And when the camera is on "Program" mode you can most of the time chose whether you want the flash on or off.
  7. Portrait mode is used to blur out the background in the picture. The camera will try and use the fastest available lens setting.
  8. The sports setting is used to freeze motion, the camera will use its highest shutter speed possible.com
  9. It has faster camera responses, better control over the focus, and better composition.
  10. The flash is off, the mood of the photography can sometimes be more dramatic when the natural light is used.
  11. The flash is on auto, the flash will automatically fire when it needs it.
  12. Too much light and the photo will be washed out.
  13. If theres not enough light then the photo will come out dark.
  14. The word "stop" is used in every aspect in photography to represent a relative change in brightness.
  15. the stop will be 1 stop
  16. the stop will be 2 stop's
  17. the long shutter speed is more light
  18. the shutter shutter speed is less light
  19. Its like a pupil
  20. By adjusting the larger opening
  21. the aperture gets wider
  22. the aperture gets smaller
  23. the shutter is shorter
  24. the shutter is faster
  25. it determines the sensitivity of the image
  26. it makes more things in focus
  27. it allows you to freeze an action photo
  28. it has less light but has a grainer image
